Lioscarrig Alaskan Malamutes started with a dream of mine to Own, Show and Breed Alaskan Malamutes, after a lot of research and hours spent on the net and on the phone, I finally found what I had been waiting for at Monikoona Kennels in the UK.

The name Lioscarrig came from the area we lived, in what a great tribute to give my adopted home of Tralee in the beautiful county of Kerry on the southwest corner of Ireland. Ideally located within a few miles of the stunning Sliabh Mish mountain range and the scenic Banna and Derrymore beaches, Lioscarrig Malamutes spend most of their time enjoying fun days out with the family and some more in the show ring.

In 2010 as our plans to increase our pack developed we decided we needed more space & the search was on for our new home, finally a few short miles from Tralee in beautiful Lyrecrompane we found our ideal place, a 3 bed bungalow, surrounded by forest trails and beautiful mountains, We moved in and shortly after in early Dec our Packs dream came true along with the first of the winter snows, that first week, our water pipes froze and the dogs were doing what they were bred for, hauling loads of water from the local spring to the house, (I think we made quite an impression on the neighbours LOL)
